CIVIC FORUMS

CIVIC FORUMS

For many years we organized mayoral and other civic forums for over 8 cities in Canada. We later held similar forums in other countries.

The Diversity Advancement Network, several community leaders and our partners are very excited about this great initiative geared towards encouraging people to participate in politics either as candidates or as a responsible individual by participating in one of these events and eventually vote. We do not support or endorse any party or candidate in the past, present or future. While publishing the Afro-Caribbean News in 2010, we had the opportunity to attend the Filipino Mayoral Forum, Chinese Mayoral Forum and many others, but none was planned for the black community, so we took up the responsibility to organize one in Calgary, and a few years later we held similar events for Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa, and Whitby. We have also contributed to electoral monitoring and educating youths on the benefits of exercising their civic duties in other countries.

We had in attendance stakeholders, candidates, students, professionals, business owners, community leaders, news media and individuals who came to learn a few helpful information to enable them contribute in building our democratic institutions or exercise their civic duties.

CIVIC FORUMS
